Cantor Ministry – Director: Angie Murphy
This ministry is open to advanced-level singers who wish to expand their ministry by leading the gathered assembly in song and prayer. The ability to read music is strongly recommended and an audition will be requested. Training and formation will be provided. For those who have never served as cantors before, it is recommended that you become a member of a choir for at least three months before beginning in the cantor ministry.
If you play an instrument and feel called to music ministry, please contact the parish music director to explore how we can help you offer your gifts!
St. Francis of Assisi Choral Ensembles:
SFA Children's Choir (CC) is for ALL children in the parish who are in grades 3rd-5th. Practices are each Wednesday night from 6:15 - 6:45 in the music room. We lead 1-2 masses each month, lead RE masses throughout the year, sing on Christmas Eve, Easter and lead one of the First Communion Masses. We are one busy, talented and fun group! We would love to have anyone who has an interest, join us! Our philosophy is "Family First" and we understand that sometimes it's just not possible to make it to every practice and/or mass. We just ask that you come to as many as possible and start to understand and enjoy being a part of music ministry. See you soon!

The St. Francis handbell choir, the Bells of Assisi, is composed of eleven ringers (and a number of faithful substitutes) with some musical background and the ability to read music. The handbell choir plays a variety of music from traditional to contemporary to spirituals and everything in between. Active from September through May, the Bells of Assisi play for two Mass per month and rehearsal on Sundays at 4:30 PM in the St. Clare room. We’re always looking for more people to join us. We currently have spots open for substitutes. Training is also available outside of rehearsal if desired.
