Cantor Ministry Director: Angie Murphy

This ministry is open to advanced-level singers who wish to expand their ministry by leading the gathered assembly in song and prayer. The ability to read music is strongly recommended and an audition will be requested. Training and formation will be provided. For those who have never served as cantors before, it is recommended that you become a member of a choir for at least three months before beginning in the cantor ministry.

Saint Francis of Assisi Children's Choir (SFACC) Director: Lindsay Struecker
SFA Children's Choir (CC) is for ALL children in the parish who are in grades 3rd-5th. Practices are each Wednesday night from 6:15 - 6:45 in the music room. We lead 1-2 masses each month, lead RE masses throughout the year, sing on Christmas Eve, Easter and lead one of  the First Communion Masses. We are one busy, talented and fun group! We would love to have anyone who has an interest, join us! Our philosophy is "Family First" and we understand that sometimes it's just not possible to make it to every practice and/or mass. We just ask that you come to as many as possible and start to understand and enjoy being a part of music ministry. See you soon!


SFA Middle School ChoirDirector: Audra Meyer
Middle School Music Ministry needs YOU! Any youth in grades 6th-8th who likes to sing contemporary Christian music, would enjoy leading mass and just likes to have a good time is welcome! We meet each Sunday night from 6:15-6:45 in the sanctuary. We lead 1-2 masses each month, lead RE masses throughout the year, sing on Christmas Eve, Easter and lead the First Communion masses. We keep things really informal and occasionally celebrate with pizza and ice cream. C -U R interested!!

 
 

Liturgy of Life Director: Jean Fox

Liturgy of Life (LOL) is a group of high school and/or college-age students who come together to share their musical gifts with their church family. Formal music training or the ability to read music is not required. The desire to share your faith through song is. LOL sings for Mass twice a month and rehearsals take place Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. in the school band room. Additionally, LOL also sings for the St. Francis Confirmation Masses, Dowling Catholic High School Baccalaureate, as well as other celebrations throughout the year. Singers, instrumentalists, and musicians of all abilities are invited to come pray through song.

 
SFA Praise Choir Director: Kari Tindall

An adult contemporary choir mixed with violin, drums, bass, piano, and occasional tambourine. Our main goal is to have fun while celebrating our God through song. Ability to read music is not required. We meet Monday nights from 7:00-8:00 in the sanctuary and typically lead 2 Masses each month

 
SFA Knights of Columbus Director: Dan Werner

The Knights of Columbus Men's Choir sings about twice a quarter, typically at the Saturday 4:30 Mass, but at other times for special occasions. Any man in the parish, regardless of participation in the Knights of Columbus, is welcome to sing. Rehearsals are at 3:30 right before Mass. It is not necessary to know how to read music to participate. Contact Dan Werner at 222-1222 or wernerdcbb@aol.com if you would like more information.

 
Bells of Assisi – Director: Kaitlyn Fillmore

The St. Francis handbell choir, the Bells of Assisi, is composed of eleven ringers (and a number of faithful substitutes) with some musical background and the ability to read music. The handbell choir plays a variety of music from traditional to contemporary to spirituals and everything in between. Active from September through May, the Bells of Assisi play for two Mass per month and rehearsal on Sundays at 4:30 PM in the St. Clare room. We’re always looking for more people to join us. We currently have  spots open for substitutes. Training is also available outside of rehearsal if desired.
 

 
Schola Director: Sarah Graf
Schola is a group of vocalists and instrumentalists specializing in liturgical music. The ability to read music and feel comfortable on a given choral part is required. Schola sings for Mass twice a month. Rehearsals take place one hour prior to their scheduled Mass.
