As we enter the season of Lent, we are invited to slow down, reflect, and intentionally draw closer to God. In the busy rhythm of school, family life, activities, and responsibilities, Lent offers us a gentle but important reminder: faith grows when we make space for it.

Lent is not simply about giving something up — it is about making room. When we pray more intentionally, show kindness more freely, forgive more quickly, or serve others more generously, we allow Christ to transform our hearts. These small, daily choices help us become the people God calls us to be.

Being the assistant principal of SFA, I am blessed to witness faith lived out in simple but powerful ways — students helping one another, teachers offering patience and encouragement, as well as the wonderful service opportunities our students and families are exposed to. These moments reflect the spirit of Lent: choosing love, compassion, and humility even in ordinary situations.

This season invites all of us — students, parents, and staff — to reflect on how we can grow closer to Christ together. Perhaps it is through family prayer, acts of service, attending Mass more regularly, or extending grace to someone who needs it. Lent reminds us that transformation often begins quietly – in the words of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta – “through small acts done with great love”.

As we journey toward Easter, may we take time to pause, pray, and renew our commitment to living our faith each day. May our sacrifices deepen our gratitude, our prayer strengthen our trust, and our service reflect Christ’s love to everyone we encounter.

Wishing you and your family a blessed and meaningful Lenten season.
