As we read in the Gospel, the Apostles come back from the mission Jesus sent them on. The news about Jesus is spreading and more and more people were coming to see Him. Jesus wanted to go off to a deserted place, to refuel, but people kept coming to Him. They wanted healing from their suffering. They wanted to be close to Jesus.

As we go through life, we get caught up in the busyness of life. Do you go to a deserted place? Where do you find a place to refuel? For me, it is with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. We have the Holy Mass, Adoration, and Jesus present in the Tabernacle. If we really believe that the Holy Eucharist is Jesus’ Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, why are we not like the people in this reading, longing to be with Him, following Him wherever He goes? Why do we not flock to Him?

The ultimate gift of the Eucharist is love. What the people in the Gospel reading were experiencing was His love for them. What we experience in the Holy Eucharist is love. His love is a miraculous love, far beyond our understanding, and we only get a glimpse of it. The more time you spend with Him, the deeper He goes, the more love He shows us, it never ends.

St. Francis of Assisi has Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament Monday thru Friday from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Spend time with Jesus. You will not be disappointed and it will change your life.
