As we are halfway through the Advent season, I find myself feeling especially grateful to experience this time alongside our students and staff. Advent has always been one of my favorite seasons—not because of the excitement leading up to Christmas, but because of the quiet, meaningful moments it brings.

When my own children were growing up, they always looked forward to the week that was “their” turn to light the Advent candle and read the reflection for our family. I can still picture the joy and pride on their faces when it was their week to lead. Those memories continue to shape the way I see this season.

In the middle of our busy days, Advent gives me a chance to slow down and really pay attention. I’m excited to walk into classrooms and see students participating in Advent activities or joining in a prayer service. We have so many beautiful experiences planned for our students this season, and I know those moments are part of what makes us so blessed to be a Catholic community.

On a personal level, Advent encourages me to pause and make room for hope. It helps me refocus on what truly matters: growing in faith, showing patience, offering kindness, and trusting that even in the waiting, God is at work. There is something incredibly moving about journeying through that together as a SFA family.

Sharing Advent with our students reminds me that preparing our hearts isn’t something we do alone—it’s something we do side by side. And each day, as we light another candle or share another prayer, I’m reminded of what a blessing it is to walk this season with all of you.

Wishing each of you a very blessed and grace-filled Advent season!
