I’m New!

Welcome to St. Francis! All are welcome at the Supper of our Lord!

Just Visiting

If you are in the West Des Moines area and want to come worship with us, please view our Mass and Sacrament schedule. Here are some helpful notes:

  • The church entrance is located on the west side of the building. There is a north and south entrance.
  • Listening assistance is available. Learn more here or inquire at the Mass Coordinators table before Mass.
  • Children are welcome at every Mass but if you need a break, we do offer nursery services during the 9:30 a.m. Mass. The nursery is located in the north hall past the restrooms and Adoration chapel.
  • Low-gluten hosts are available at every Mass. Please join the Priest’s communion line.
  • If you are not Catholic, you are still welcome to come up during communion with your hands crossed over your chest to receive a special blessing.

Join Our Parish

If you are a Baptized Roman Catholic, we encourage you to register with our parish so we can get to know you and help you connect with others. We have a two-step process to become a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines, Iowa:

Step 1: Fill out this form so we can collect your household information.

Step 2. Attend a monthly Newcomer Session hosted the first Sunday of every month after the 9:30 Mass in the Serra Room. Look for direction signs in our gathering space.

Important Note: You can complete the steps in any order but your membership is not considered final until you attend a Newcomer Session.

For membership questions, information about getting involved or if you cannot attend a Newcomer Session, please contact Rebecca Bahl, Newcomer and Volunteer Coordinator at rbahl@saintfrancischurch.org.

Unsure why you should become a member? Well, why not? Becoming a member offers practical benefits such as being able to celebrate the Sacraments here including Marriage and Baptism.  Members receive priority consideration for our catholic school and preschool. But most importantly it’s about belonging to a strong faith community working together to grow in holiness and building the Kingdom of God. Need more convincing.  Check out this video.
